Lawrenceburg Mom Arrested For Selling Drugs To Confidential Informant
A woman authorities allege sold drugs locally on more than one occasion was arrested on multiple charges last week, her children removed from her home.
Reports filed through the Lawrenceburg Police Department show that twenty-eight year old Britta Danielle Rumbaugh was arrested after department detectives collected considerable evidence against her.
Rumbaugh is accused of selling prescription drugs to a confidential informant on West Gaines Street on September 2, and from her home on Windsor Avenue on September 11. Later that day investigators obtained and executed a search warrant on her property, with the assistance of a department drug dog.
During the search they report finding a marijuana joint concealed in a metal container at the bottom of a basket in a bathroom, and rolling papers and containers bearing marijuana residue on an entertainment center.
Inside Rumbaugh’s 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer officers report locating a set of digital scales bearing marijuana residue concealed inside the center console.
Due to the fact that she had used it to deliver drugs to a confidential informant during an arranged buy, her vehicle was seized along with televisions, gaming systems, cell phones, and computer hardware all believed to be obtained from the proceeds of illegal drug sales.
Rumbaugh was transported to the Lawrence County Detention Center where she was charged with two counts of possession of Schedule II drugs for resale, simple possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
During a search at the facility, reports show that corrections officers discovered a plastic baggy concealed in her bra that contained 3.6 grams of crystal meth. Eighty dollars on her person was also seized. Officers report that two of the $20 bills matched the pre-recorded money that was used during the drug buy.
As a result of the discovery Rumbaugh was additionally charged with possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of resale and introduction of contraband into a penal facility.
Also as a result, her bond, which had originally been set at $102,000, was changed and she was held without bond.
Rumbaugh is scheduled to answer the charges against her in General Sessions Court on October 2, 2014.
At the time of the search and arrest authorities say Rumbaugh’s children were inside the home. A referral was made to the Department of Children’s Services and the children were subsequently released into the custody of a relative.
